About

Alan Folk, professional photographer & passionate traveler

I’m a simple, down-to-earth person, someone who can blend into the background when needed, but who’s also curious, cheerful, and social. As a professional photographer, I’m just as passionate about visual storytelling as I am about traveling.

I’m a true globetrotter. Whether I’m exploring the world, practicing my craft, or capturing everyday moments with my family, I bring my camera everywhere. I’ve had the chance to shoot in places like Hong Kong, Japan, Costa Rica, and across Canada—and there’s so much more to come. The world is full of beauty, and who knows… maybe our next adventure will be together.

I’m not ready to put down my backpack or my camera anytime soon. Every trip is an opportunity to meet new people and leave a piece of myself behind—through my images. That’s something I consider a true privilege.

Photography as a way to express who I am.

This art form has taught me so much : humility, patience, perseverance, and how to observe what others might miss. I’m deeply grateful for everything photography has brought into my life.

Based in Montreal, I’m originally from France but now proudly call Quebec home. I’m available for weddings, elopements, couple sessions, here, across Canada, or abroad. Are you ready to let me in and let me capture the beauty of your story? Whether you’re planning a wedding, a portrait session, or even documenting a pregnancy, I’d love to hear from you. The best way to get started is to reach out — let’s talk and see where it leads 😉

My approach as a professional photographer

It’s important to me that you feel completely comfortable and natural during our time together. Trust is the foundation of great photos. With your trust and openness, we can create something truly meaningful. When there’s a real connection, every image becomes a piece of your story, emotional, authentic, timeless.

My vision of photography

The relationship I build with each client is at the heart of what I do. I aim to create a space of trust where you feel seen and understood. I work to capture your unique personality, your connection with others, and the essence of your story. For me, every session is a collaboration. Between you, my lens, and the emotion we create together.

My journey as a professional photographer

It all started when I was a kid, with my parents’ old Polaroid. Then came a digital point-and-shoot. My first photos? Family snapshots. And just like that, photography became my lifelong love story.

While building a career in a completely different field, I spent years involved in photography communities in Paris. That experience helped me grow, connect, and learn, through sharing, collaboration, and pure passion.

After ten years of shooting on the side, I finally took the leap and made photography my full-time profession. Since then, I’ve been diving deep not just into the art, but also into the world of entrepreneurship, learning, evolving, and building a business that’s true to me
